History
Identity and chronology
The exact name “Ponca City Municipal Band” appears in a 1953 newspaper index. A July 29, 1961 newspaper photograph documents the municipal band playing patriotic programs in its summer concert series at Pioneer Park. A different archival item shows a “Ponca City band” attending a highway convention in 1912.
Leadership
The reviewed 1961 item includes Earl Simes as a keyword but does not clearly state his role; the packet therefore does not identify him as director.
Sponsorship and participation
The 1961 title and caption establish municipal identity and a public summer-concert function. Funding and membership rules remain undocumented.
Adult or plausibly adult; exact participation model may remain unverified.
Activity
Exact-name evidence exists by 1953, and the 1961 record establishes patriotic summer programs in Pioneer Park.
