Chilocco-associated Indian exhibit band

Evidence note · high confidence

What the evidence supports

November 28, 1903 Weekly Examiner reports a forty-piece band, drawn from many tribes, then at Chilocco, with daily concerts planned for the coming World’s Fair.

Limits and open questions

Earlier than the Earlier research 1904 heading. Existence at Chilocco and planned concerts now have direct contemporary support; completed fair appearances, N. S. Nelson’s directorship and the proposed April 1904 tour remain unverified. Updates commil-chilocco1904 without automatically merging the exhibit ensemble with the regular school band.

Confidence detail: high. Evidence notes are not a count of distinct ensembles.
