Fort Gibson Military Band
Northeastern: Centennial History, page 13, records a twenty-piece military band from Fort Gibson performing at the Cherokee Male Seminary dedication near Tahlequah on May 6, 1851. The institutional account cites an 1880 Cherokee Advocate item. The original item, exact military unit, leader, roster and instrumentation remain unresolved.
