December 16, 1957 Greer County News announces March 10 festival at Mangum with expected 325 musicians from Carnegie, Anadarko, Thomas, Weatherford, Hydro and Mangum, to form three massed bands.
June 4, 1953 Review-Courier announces the summer Friday courthouse-square concert series under Nile Joachim. Members included high-school and college students and other community players; rehearsals had run for two weeks.
July 25, 1951 Times announces a half-hour concert preceding Ardmore’s birthday celebration in Central Park. September 9, 1952 Times announces a thirty-minute Main Street concert for Ardmore’s fall window unveiling, arranged by the chamber trade development committee.
Tulsa Municipal, Starlight, Ponca City Municipal, Guthrie Capital City, Enid Legion corps, Kilties, Cushing Legion, Akdar corps, Tulsa Salvation Army, 45th and 97th bands and 1958 Tulsa Community name are already represented. Repeated website citations are not new discoveries.
August 2, 1955 Drumright Derrick announces Mrs. Z. N. Breaux and her community band would return for the August 6–7 rodeo, noting earlier visits and absence the previous year. It also announces bands from Stillwater high school and Oklahoma City.
1959 officers, approximate founding and May 8, 1960 debut/review are already in the project’s detailed profile. Existing research also preserves 1974 “former” and 1978 present-tense membership references.
November 25, 1927 Derrick advertises Bill Lewis and His Black Clouds at Cain’s Academy, Drumright, on November 26.
Carney’s jazz-band table and Blue Devils, Fields/Royal Entertainers, Polly’s Musical Maids, Ted Armstrong and other established profiles already occur in the research. Shared musicians do not merge Christian family groups, Sheffield, Blue Devils, Moten or Basie organizations.
Carla Chlouber’s 1997 Chronicles article documents the Ripley group’s 1925 KFRU activity and cites September 7, 1929 Billboard for a scheduled Ohio RKO tour.
A federal program’s 1935–1943 life does not date each Ardmore/Shawnee band. The municipal-band section’s Tulsa 1941 body cannot establish an Oklahoma City band. Al Good’s general 1940s dating neither proves nor excludes 1940.

Report names bands accompanying Enid and Oklahoma City delegations, Edmond’s military band, and bands from El Reno, Tonkawa, Jefferson and Medford, alongside Perkins. It reports music throughout the day.
June 21, 1900 Blackwell Times-Record announces Newkirk and Tonkawa bands secured for the July Fourth celebration; Blackwell’s band was hoped to return from Oklahoma City.
January 18, 1906 Hartshorne Sun reports the Perkins ladies band playing at Governor Frank Frantz’s inauguration in Guthrie.
The reported 217/292/75 profile counts and 128/123 URL-audit counts are cited project snapshots, not newly discovered ensembles or current totals. The master name list is not a census of distinct continuous organizations.
The 1900 article separately describes a group of Tonkawa Indigenous people scheduled to give dances and other demonstrations. The word band here does not establish a named instrumental ensemble.

July 18, 1912 Mangum Sun-Monitor reprints a Hobart Democrat-Chief report that the Hobart band had returned Friday after supplying music for a two-day Granite picnic.
July 4, 1918 Cordell Beacon reports the Hobart band in attendance at a Red Cross-focused picnic at Dan Williams grove, a mile west of Dill.
July 2, 1908 Hobart Republican reports that the band led the local Woodmen of the World camp to the cemetery for G. A. Coffman’s monument unveiling.

The Logan County Historical Society retrospective dates the festival to 1938–1951, describes eligibility as high schools with fewer than 300 students, reports 65 Oklahoma schools by 1951, and says a 1952 scheduling conflict ended the event.
